What inspired you to get into music?
My folks put me on to a variety of music from different parts of the world as a kid from 80s & 90s r&b, hip hop and Ghanaian highlife. I grew up in a church household too so the hymnals and praises always left an impression on me and helped me sing. I would find myself always humming melodies and wanting a way to record them and capture these sounds. This led to picking up a violin in 6th grade and further interest in music production. I always believe music came to me and happened naturally.
Who are you Inspired by musically?
I was a big fan of Darkchild, The Neptures and Timbaland production. I always loved how their drums sounded and how futuristic their production was in general. It always had a mysterious essence and magical touch that made most of my favorite songs from them hit. Erykah Badu and Prince are a few to name as well. The early 2000s Ghanaian highlife is also a source of inspiration for the production and music in general. I felt like songs from that era always had a powerful tone of love, reflection and colorful rhythm to make you dance/feel good. I’m tryna bring those vibes into the music I make because i think the world is lacking it. Like what happened to the female/male choruses? Think of Nelly/Kelly Rowland - Dilemma. I want to bring that energy too
What does your creative process consist of when creating music?
I love just hearing a beat and approaching it with the feeling it gives me. When I listen to a song or a beat I always have an image in my mind of what it looks like. I look at songs as stages/scenes and the lyrics are just the characters in them. I also tend to write.
What are your plans for the future working with GxldBxz?
“develop and spread the message!!”
