What inspired you to get into photo journalism/media?
I’ve been drawn to documenting real moments long before I knew there was a name for it. Growing up, I was fascinated by the people who had the tools, the access, and the reason to be on the scene with a camera. It wasn’t just about the moment itself, but the story behind the lens. How the camera was positioned, what angle was chosen, what was included and what was left out. I loved the idea that the person behind the camera was shaping how a moment would be remembered. Thinking back, that curiosity started early. I remember being drawn to the photographers at school and asking for my first digital camera when I was around twelve years old. At the time, I didn’t fully understand what that interest meant. It was intuitive. I didn’t know it was something I could develop or pursue seriously, but the instinct was already there. As I got older, that instinct showed up across different creative paths. Through entrepreneurship, content creation, podcasting, poetry, and visual storytelling, I realized I was consistently building narratives and documenting lived experiences. I wasn’t just creating content. I was paying attention to people, energy, and timing, and learning how to translate that into something meaningful.
Photojournalism felt like a full circle moment. It gave language to what I had been practicing for years: showing up with presence, care, and intention, and capturing moments in a way that feels real and honest. That is what continues to inspire my work and why behind the scenes storytelling feels natural to me.
Who are you Inspired by
when it comes down to media?
I’m inspired by artists, but more than that, I’m inspired by people’s passion. The moment I can feel the intention behind what someone is creating, how much care went into it, and what they are trying to bring to life, it immediately draws me in. I’m inspired by the vision before it becomes visible, the thought process behind the action, and the transformation from idea to reality. Whether I’m at an event, traveling, documenting a space, or simply observing someone showing up as their best self, I’m naturally moved to capture it. I pay attention to the details, the energy, the styling, the environment, and the emotion in the room. What inspires me most is being close to people who are fully invested in their craft and honoring that moment by telling their story with intention.
What does your creative process consist of when you are shooting photo or video?
My creative process starts with understanding the environment, the people involved, and the purpose of what I’m capturing. If I have space beforehand, I take time to study the context. I learn who I’m shooting for, what the moment represents, and how the story wants to be told. That preparation helps me walk in grounded and aligned with the energy of the room.
Once I’m on site, I rely heavily on presence and intuition. Not everything is scripted, and some of the most impactful moments happen organically. I pay attention to timing, emotion, and interaction, and I’m not afraid to ask the right question or shift perspective if it helps unlock a more meaningful story.
Overall, my process is about balance. I prepare with intention, then stay flexible enough to capture what unfolds naturally. I focus on who I’m shooting, what we’re building, and why it matters, so the visuals feel honest, connected, and true to the moment.
What are your plans for the future working with GxldBxz? My intention with GxldBxz is to grow alongside the brand and contribute at a high level over time. This opportunity came at a moment where I was looking for a space I could truly pour into, where my creativity, perspective, and presence were not only welcomed but useful. From the beginning, my focus is on showing up fully in my role, producing strong work, and honoring the vision of GxldBxz through behind the scenes storytelling.
As the relationship develops, I see myself becoming more deeply integrated into the ecosystem. Beyond capturing moments, I naturally think in terms of connection, collaboration, and elevation. I enjoy bringing the right people together, recognizing potential, and adding value wherever it’s needed, whether that’s creatively, strategically, or culturally.
Long term, I see myself growing with GxldBxz as the brand expands. I’m interested in being a trusted creative partner, someone who understands the story, the people, and the bigger picture, and who can contribute across multiple projects and environments. My goal is to be a consistent presence that helps document meaningful history while supporting the continued evolution of the brand.
